After university to work and then home to study for the next exam. Back to work at the weekend so that there is enough money for daily life. The mailbox is full again and there are umpteen unanswered messages waiting on the cell phone. There are also social obligations such as partnership, friends and family. Don't you even feel like you've done everything at night? As compensation, we try to find a work-life balance: Yoga on Mondays, family evenings on Wednesdays and sex on Fridays. We seem to be doing everything right. We are successful and well organized. We balance studies, job, family, friends and free time - and still sometimes feel strangely empty and exhausted.
Based on new findings from medicine and psychology, it is shown that it is not about perfect everyday planning. Work-life balance can become a trap when it forces us to pack even more healthy and meaningful things into our already busy schedules. That has to end, we have to learn something else: let go and feel again what we really need. The Mañana competence is the competence of the future - for a fulfilled and contented life.
