Minority stress in the LGBTQI+ community: what can I do about it?
Time & Location
Oct 07, 2020, 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM
Zoom-Workshop
About the event
"I'm not homophobic or transphobic, am I?" Do you sometimes ask yourself this question? Then in the workshop let's look at the emergence of discrimination against people from the LGBTQ+ community, deal with our own social gender and find ways of what we can do against minority stress.
People from the LGBTQ+ community break the heterosexual norm and/or the two-gender model and often have discriminatory experiences. This has consequences for mental health. In the workshop we will take a closer look at the scientific findings, deal with our own social gender, uncover the heterosexual matrix and find ways together of what we can do against discrimination.
